Leixen VV-808: Frequency Ranges in the software

I noticed this drop down while playing with the software.

It probably doesn't mean anything - just a convenience for writing one program to support all versions of the radios, but something I'll want to play with once I've actually made a contact. I'd hate to brick it before I ever hit the transmit button.

Leixen VV-808: First Hands On Review

m42duster took the plunge and ordered a VV-808. After playing with it for a few hours, his impression is quite favorable. Some highlights:

• Easy to program manually
• Front 4 buttons are programmable (short and long press)
• Main knob is multi-function
• Internal speaker is loud and has good tonal quality
• Transmit audio received good reports

Bob points out that you can get the VV-808 at AliExpress for $68.55 including shipping. I would have ordered one tonight if I thought it would actually be 2M instead of 440. I sent a message to the seller to see what they have to say.

N9XLC has posted about the VV-808 transceiver.  As he points out, this thing is small. I'm guessing from the pictures and the box that the manufacturer is Leixen, but there is no name on the radio. And we all know how these things get re-branded. The radio itself is $71 USD, but shipping is almost the same.
