Baofeng UV-3R: Factory Reset

Most UV-3R owners have probably already figured out that the manual is wrong, but for those that haven't... to do a factory reset, hold the U/V button down while turning the radio on. While unfortunate, it has been amusing to see all the "RTFM" replies that direct folks to an incorrect answer on the UV-3R Yahoo Group.

    For anyone wanting to reset their baofeng this works. tryed and tested.

      On mine (original single line display, the one you got with two antennas one for VHF one for UHF), power on + any of the following: U/V or MENU or VOL, will reset the radio.

      Also, you can turn on the LED flashlight without turning the radio on

    Just be careful if you have big fingers like I do. I accidentally held down the U/V button while turning the radio on without realizing it. Needless to say I was pretty mad at myself since I had to reprogram everything by hand because I don't have the programming cable.

    i also got factory reset inside my bag...till now it was opening by itself. this time it done a reset....

    hmm, my both UV3R will not reset, not it uV, not with Vol ... any other ideas about the last years?
