Unicorns on Facebook

The following image is making the rounds on Facebook. It comes from a PDF of several slides at Connect the Dots USA.

From Society

If you don't like that you don't have as much money as someone else, do something about it... and I don't mean whine and cry until someone gives you a hand out. Maybe you should protest.

  1. The strange thing is that they present that chart in a fashion that leads me to believe they want me to get all emotionally worked up over it.

I worked hard to have what I do now. Other people worked harder and have more than me. Other people worked less hard and have less than me.

Any other alternative is blatantly socialistic, and thus completely unacceptable. This country was not founded on the notion of "fairness", because the "ideal" does not exist - it may not be fair that some people make less than other people, but neither is it fair to take money away from people to give it to other people. Instead, we all have equal opportunities to do with our lives as we will... some people spend their time making copious quantities of money, while other people choose to spend their time holding signs. I know which I would rather be.

Oh, and for the love of God, America is not a "democracy", as the idiots behind that slide seem to claim.
