Take this with a grain of salt since I have not seen the +Plus, but I would get the Mark II as I think the smaller size is more important to me. The drop in charger of the +Plus would be nice.
I have the UV-3R mark 2 . It works well . You can buy a 1500mAH battery for $6.00 .The battery is a NP-60 .A very popular cell and camera battery .The cac charger for $4.00 on DHgate .I would not spend much on Baofeng radio .
It is a little bigger than the UV-3R
ReplyDeleteAnd a little heavier, mayve due to the battery being 1500mAh, I think the standard one is 1200mAh.
From 409shop.
UV-3R+Plus
52*87*29(mm)
150g
1500mAh
UV-3R Mk2.
47*81*23(mm)
130g
1200mAH
I don't have either, but which would you prefer?
Being a small 2W H/H?

DeleteAnother point which may be a killer....
DeleteThe old UV-3R seems to be able to be charged direct into the radio from a wall charger, USB or DC plug.
Not sure, but the +Plus might only be able to be charged from the base, which means another thing to lug around if going away.
Good point on the charging options. The UV-3R is a bug out/back up radio, so size is important/weight/bulk is important.
