On the back of the Wouxun KG-UV9D, you will find the FCC ID: WVTWOUXUN10. I believe this is the same as the KG-UV8D. (Since they were kind enough to loan me the radio, I'm going to keep mentioning and thanking BuyTwoWayRadios!)
My biggest complaint is that they introduce new software for each model, it does not appear that I can copy my channels from the 8D to the 9D, so here I am again re-typing over 100 lines of channels. uggg
I don't keep up with all the radios that are supported, but CHRIP can go a long way in saving some time. http://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/Download

Thanks for that. Its kind of a bummer that its not Part 90 certified, although I haven't looked to see if they have applied for it yet.
ReplyDeleteI believe that certain versions of the KGUV8D were not also, so maybe this is a sign that their future models will be ham only.
