Cool, but if you are runner you have all these memorized.

    Very quickly the ratio of a Fibonacci number to the previous element in the serious converges to the Golden Ratio, which is (1 + SQRT(5))/2, or about 1.618. And a mile is very close to 1.609 km -- 1.609344 miles, to be exact. So that's why this Fibonacci trick works.
