Cost of an iPhone

In the US, $707. In Brazil, about $1,200.

My company looked at doing business in Brazil. I learned about several complexities on the accounting side. I suspect these "complexities" explain the extra $500.

  1. Some people would be eager to say it is a problem of the "Brazil cost" and would, obviously, blame the government ... but knowing that there is an incentive for industries outside (Foxconn has a factory here, just don't know if is the first outside China), and knowing how the logic works for the cars, I would say more in a "profit Brazil".
