SainSonic AP510 APRS Tracker

The SainSonic AP510 APRS Tracker ($140 at Amazon):

AVRT5 is developed on the basis of the above aprs AVRTT-AVRT4 equipment, the main function is to transmit APRS data integration. Built-in GPS antenna and module + VHF radio transceiver module to TNC codec comprehensive plan. When it power on it can be decoded to work with the standard orientation can be issued after verification of aprs data. It's compatible with common business APRS equipment and various aprsDIGI repeat and IGATE, it's a real APRS machine including transmitting and receiving.

* Built- charge management IC (Input 5V)
* LED status display: Dual LED display, red is charging indicator, when charging it's red, full extinguished or dimmed. Green is the GPS indicator: Flashing indicates that no location. If it's on it means success positioning
* Single button: Press button long time - turn on. After startup, short press- transmitting, long press-turn off
* 18B20 temperature sensor: IC precision 0.0625 degrees, passes the temperature of inside/outside the machine and the board in real time
* The buzzer (beep): Switch and transmitter, there beep prompt, convenient to determine the state and blind transfer machines

  1. i have had my unit for 2 months never go working I try on 2 different computers on will not even read the config file the other defaults to com port 1 and is nothing else plugged in to computer. Is a peace of junk and no help. I buy cause i wanted something to work aprs that said was easy to set up and worked wow what a lie.

    2. Yes it looks like every one has a problem programing the AP510 , i still can not and yahoo groups has been no help and ferm ware up date make no sense , any one figured out how to program them ?

  2. Works great, need to use tools provided. Check out the Yahoo group AP510. The port that looks like a USB connector is actually a serial port and requires the serial-USB cable that came with the 510 as well as a USB driver.

    Latest from desember 2014.
    You have to use the provided USB cable since it has a built in rs232 converter in the plug. You can charge with any micro usb cable.

  5. All the links that have the Sainsonic AP510 software have trojan's! Does anyone know how to get a clean version?
