The Winds of Winter
George R. R. Martin posts an update on the next book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series, The Winds of Winter:
"THE WINDS OF WINTER is not finished.
Believe me, it gave me no pleasure to type those words. You're disappointed, and you're not alone. My editors and publishers are disappointed, HBO is disappointed, my agents and foreign publishers and translators are disappointed... but no one could possibly be more disappointed than me. For months now I have wanted nothing so much as to be able to say, "I have completed and delivered THE WINDS OF WINTER" on or before the last day of 2015.
But the book's not done."I'm not surprised that it's not finished. I will be surprised when it is. This next statement did surprise me.
"Look, I never thought the series could possibly catch up with the books, but it has."

Game of Thrones - All 5 Books for $10 (Paperback)
So I thought $24 was a good deal for all five books in the Game of Thrones series... well, Wal-Mart has all five paperbacks for $10. (And that matches the best deal I've seen for the Kindle version.)

Game of Thrones - All 5 Books for $24 (Paperback)
Just ahead of the season six start...
Once upon a time, you could get all five Game of Thrones (Kindle) books for $10. (Currently, $20 for the Kindle versions.)
If you prefer the dead tree version, you can get the paperbacks for about $24.

Be Afraid
Potentially bad news for your favorite Game of Thrones characters:
“I have a large number of important characters who I switch between to tell the entirety of the story, and that limits who I can kill … The viewpoint characters are meeting up with each other and being in the same point at the same time,” said Martin, “which gives me a lot more flexibility for killing people.”George R.R. An isolated computer - no network connectivity. I wonder how many WordStar 4.0 viruses there are out there?

Game of Thrones - All 5 Books for $10
I had posted previously about a deal for cheap books in the series, but it just got crazy. All 5 books in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" aka Game of Thrones series for $9.99. (Kindle versions of course!)

Game of Thrones Deal
Wow! You can get all five of the A Song of Ice and Fire series (aka Game of Thrones) for less than $20! These are my favorite books of all time. I've got them all in hard back - including a signed copy of A Feast for Crows, but I may still have to get the Kindle versions. I suspect I will want to reread them when George RR Martin finally gets the next book out.

What Do You Mean If?
George RR Martin is a slow writer. There is now a race between him finishing the books and the HBO series based on his books catching up. This article asks if the show will catch the books. I don't think it is a question. The show will catch the books because George is a writer first and a business man second. The creative process will not be rushed.
Much to my disappointment.

Game of Thrones and HBO
Some notes as the Game of Thrones Season 2 ends...
Game of Thrones is this season's most pirated show.
And if people like the content so much, maybe HBO should start offering it directly. I would probably pay for an HBO Go account since my provider, Knology, doesn't include it with the HBO subscription.
And a funny suggestion for other shows to watch while we wait for the third season.
