.@FedSoc @Salon @donnabrazile Why would we need a new Constitution? We're barely using the old one.

George Washington
First Annual Address, to both House of Congress (8 January 1790):
"A free people ought not only to be armed, but disciplined; to which end a uniform and well-digested plan is requisite; and their safety and interest require that they should promote such manufactories as tend to render them independent of others for essential, particularly military, supplies."

When I win the lottery...
I may have mentioned that I might learn to play the harmonic and/or banjo if I win the lottery. I think I would also take a Constitutional Law class or two. I followed the live feed at SCOTUSBlog yesterday. I find the process to be fascinating stuff. You get quotes like this:
“Some will rejoice in today’s decision, and some will despair at it; that is the nature of a controversy that matters so much to so many,” Scalia concluded. “But the Court has cheated both sides, robbing the winners of an honest victory, and the losers of the peace that comes from a fair defeat. We owed both of them better. I dissent.”All I need is time and money... I got the hobbies all lined up.

Fear the Deer!
"Fearing the local deer population might suddenly turn tyrannical, the Found Fathers hastily drafted the Second Amendment."

Cannon
Forget 9mm vs .40 or .45.
Forget AR vs. AK.
Forget Glock vs M&P.
Forget 1911 vs. whatever.
Forget revolvers vs. semi-auto.
I'm getting a cannon.

It is a Tax
Even before the decision yesterday on Obamacare, where did people think the money was coming from? That's right... Obama's magical stash.

Scary Paper
Theater Professor’s Firefly Poster Declared Threatening:
Via Slashdot
"The campus police at the University of Wisconsin-Stout deserve praise, bravery medals, and $100 gift certificates to their favorite steakhouse for ripping down theater professor James Miller's Firefly poster before it could murder any students. Oh wait—not praise and etc., but ridicule."That Constitution thing is pretty scary, too. Maybe they can snag it and burn it while they are at it.

Guns and Health Insurance
Say Uncle discusses South Dakota lawmakers' proposal that all adults have to buy a gun for self-defense. He then points to Glen's discussion on the topic.
Interesting stuff... State lawmakers propose requiring firearms purchase, but some don't believe they have the right to do it. The Federal government is trying to force healthcare on its citizens. Many don't believe that is Constitutional. However, some are saying that the Federal government may have the authority to require gun ownership through its militia powers. Now we are talking!
