Small Reactors
I'm no expert, but the small reactor idea does seem to have a lot of upside.

Horseshoes in the dark
One of the guys on the 940 repeater was asking for advice on how to clean-up some old horseshoes. Someone suggested sandblasting them. Another suggestion was to rig up a big tumbler. As the tumbler discussion evolved, someone offered to donate some big, steel barrels for the cause. The barrels came from the lab and used to hold, well, he couldn't say exactly because it was classified. He was sure the barrels had been decontaminated. Everyone agreed he should use the barrels, so that the horseshoes would end up being shiny and they would glow in the dark.
It is always interesting to listen to hams with ties to the Secret City.

Oak Ridge Mayor Signs Mayors Against Illegal Guns Letter
Tom Beehan signed the MAIG letter. On the one hand, I think we are all against illegal guns. On the other hand, these guys are idiots for thinking we are idiots. Seriously, aren't we all against bad things?

Big Ed's
Big Ed's Pizza in Oak Ridge made USA Today's top pizza places. I like Big Ed's, but I'm not sure why. The place is a dive and not exactly cheap. And, if you have any left-overs, they don't seem to heat up as well as other pizzas.
I'm a big fan of Barley's Tap Room in Knoxville's Old City. If you are there in the fall, ask a waitress for a "pump nut." If you don't get slapped, it means you will end up with a fantastic half pumpkin and half hazelnut beer.
