The ARRL is using https://t.co/e5AqwWGhNu to improve communications with radio hams. https://t.co/YY7jlISjWn— BobW (@K0NR) October 23, 2019

ARRL and groups.io
I had read that the Yahoo Groups service was shutting down... they were a hotbed for ham radio groups. Some of those groups migrated to groups.io. The ARRL is also going to use groups.io for some of their communications.

Not How I Would Do It
Guy posts a link to a survey on a Yahoo Group and the list owner kicks him out:
"I think you need to unsubscribe from this list of all you want is to mooch a survey. Forget that, I'll unsubscribe you myself."

Yahoo Group Changes
People don't like change... but I wouldn't really miss the daily messages about someone's trouble programming their radio.

Wouxun Factory Yahoo Group
YAYG - Yet Another Yahoo Group... but this time it is the Wouxun factory folks. I'm not sure if this is a good way to reach if they want to primarily provide updates. It will, and already has, become a place where people are looking for support. That's fine, if help is provided.
And...
"Dear All,

Anytone AT-5888UV: Resources
As we discussed before, there is a tightly controlled Yahoo Group for the Anytone AT-5888UV.
Because of that tight control, a second Yahoo Group for the Anytone AT-5888UV was started.
I also noticed (via Ed's listing for the radio) that there is a Wiki page for the AT-5888UV.

Yahoo Group Numbers
The Yahoo Group for the Baofeng UV-5R is insane.
Since it started nine months ago, there have been over 11,000 messages - averaging almost 1,250 per month. September and October will both be over 2,000 each. At this point, it is almost unusable for me. I don't have the time to wade through that many messages - especially when they are mostly repeat issues. Most of which could be solved by searching the group or visiting sites like http://www.miklor.com/uv5r/.
A couple of points of reference...
The UV-3R group had about 3,000 messages over the same nine months. It broke 1,000 messages in a month once (Sept.). The Wouxun group had just over 2,000 for the same period and has never had more than 1,000 messages in a month going back to its start in 2009.

Baofeng UV-3R: Yahoo Group
I was just wondering if anyone was going to create a Yahoo group for the UV-3R. A quick search and, of course, there is one: Baofeng UV-3R Yahoo Group.
My next pondering is why the Yahoo groups are so popular with the ham radio crowd.
