Interestingly, researchers in China say that this vision of 6G is the end of the line in terms of major platform upgrades and that there will never be a 7G. After 6G the goal over time will be to improve the performance of the various aspects of the technologies involved. Apparently, the Chinese have never met any AT&T and Verizon marketing staff. And 640K is all anyone will every need.

Outlet Shelf for Smart Speaker
I considered getting a shelf to hold an Echo Dot or Eufy Genie, but after I hit the post button I'm gonna buy one of the shelves since it is only $5 with code MX6AGTXV. (You can also get a two-pack for $10 with the same code.)

Airplane Filling Station
I posted about the Airplane Filling Station 8 years ago. The old links are dead, but check out the update and pictures of the restored site.
The building also got a new steward. Knox Heritage, an East Tennessee preservation group active in Knoxville and the surrounding area, assumed ownership of the building in November of 2018. When the AFSPA approached them about selling the plane two years ago, Morgan says, Knox Heritage initially suggested a preservation easement. “They said, ‘Well, I think we would just feel better turning it over to an organization like Knox Heritage,’” Morgan repeats, laughing. “We’re just proud they thought of us! It really is an honor for us.”
An easement through the Tennessee Historical Association protects the plane through 2025; in the future, Knox Heritage will continue to preserve it, Morgan says. The airplane is the group’s first commercial property, and the rent it generates will help fund its other preservation efforts.

Picture Frame Phone Charger
It's pricey at over $55, but I really like the idea of this picture frame with a builtin wireless charger for your smart phone. It also keeps the phone upright so you can see notifications easily. I could see myself with one at the desk in my office and another one on the end table beside by chair in our family room.

Logging
This is one of my favorite old locks, used to secure registered mail containers. It can be picked, but that’s not the main security function. It has a counter that advances whenever it’s opened, making it difficult steal mail undetected. It’s essentially a re-usable seal. pic.twitter.com/q9IzoPtQEu— matt blaze (@mattblaze) February 6, 2019

Wouxun KG-UVD1P
An oldie, but a goodie...
"I have 6 (six) variants of this radio with the original UV-1D being my favorite! Back in 2011 when I first became a ham radio op, the Wouxun was the 'cheap' low-cost entry level rig (the world before baofeng). Coming in at nearly $80 less than the stellar FT-60 the UV-1D was right in my budget range. 8 (Eight) Years later, it's still my 'go-to' handi. While it's not my favorite HT (Kenwood TH-k20) it is the one I find myself using anytime I am forced to use a hand-held radio. Over the years I've added a pair of 2m/6m and 2m/220 versions as well as a few spare 2m/70cm rigs. When my eldest passed his tech test last year-he got a New Wouxun HT. As you can see I'm pretty heavily invested in Wouxun, and although I sometimes wonder if I'd been better off with an offering from the Big3 (unattainable in '11), when you add it all up ($) it seems like money well spent. GarageMate
I could see this GarageMate (Bluetooth garage door opener) being very handy for bike rides and things around the neighborhood. I wonder how frequently I would wish I could open the garage door remotely from work or somewhere. At $54 and an easy install, I may give it a whirl.

A Series of Tubes
in 1959, GE tried to convince the world that vacuum tubes were better than transistors. besides an advertising blitz, they also published a 66-page brochure "comparing" the two technologies. check it out: https://t.co/F4GRMAm9kw pic.twitter.com/rEfjTT4nJp— Tube Time (@TubeTimeUS) February 14, 2019
