Game Ball for Brodus
How to play for UT?
- Fall asleep on the couch.
- Wake up about an hour before the game.
- Answer the phone.
- Get a police escort to the stadium.
- Suit up.
- Kick three extra points and a field goal.
An amazing story. The Dooley quotes are, as usual, priceless.

Dale Ellis #14
I grew up watching UT sports. One of my favorite players of all time was Dale Ellis. He wore #14 and that became my "favorite number" as a youngster. I worn #14 every chance I got when playing sports. Dale was at the UT Men's Basketball practice tonight and Wes Rucker sent out these two gems:
wesrucker247 While watching Dale Ellis shoot, Cuonzo asked who was best shooter in the gym: "Am I technically in the gym right now?"Thu, Oct 20 20:33:16 from TweetDeck

Headline: UT officials urging students to learn how to protect themselves:
But you do get Starbucks coupon and a certificate for completing the training.

"Safety officials at the University of Tennessee said police can't always get to you in time, so they are asking students to learn how to protect themselves.I'd like to see the content of the course. I'd be surprised if any of the tips included using hollow points or putting in extra practice at a range.
Officials are asking student and staff to take part in an online training program that includes tips for staying safe around campus. The idea is to help people know better how to protect themselves in the minutes immediately following a crisis situation."

Moar Plot!!1! from the UT Band
The sad state of UT sports has now infected the Pride of the Southland Band. I don't think anyone liked the Wizard of Oz skit - everyone was having Carnicus flashbacks. They should be more like the radio stations that brag "more music, less talk."

Ten-Tec 539 QRP Transceiver: Q&A with Ten-Tec
Tom Witherspoon, K4SWL, of QRPer has an interview with the Ten-Tec team regarding the 539 where several questions about the rig are answered. Some notes that struck me... it might get 160M, probably less than $1000, and can be computer controlled via USB. There is also some information about the Model 418 Amplifier.

Ten-Tec 539 QRP Transceiver
I missed the Ten-Tec hamfest this year, so I also missed the preview of the 539 QRP Transceiver. Speculation is that the 10W unit will also have an optional amplifier to take it to 100W. Check the links at the bottom of this post for more info. I'd like to own a piece of Ten-Tec equipment, just because they are local. This might be it.

Legal?
So a thunderstorm is within 10 miles of Neyland Stadium. They have shut the gates and told us that we cannot leave. I'm not sure if this is legal. I don't want to leave, but I am curious what rules apply.
